Nudie Jeans to open new Bristol repair shop on Park Street

Swedish denim brand Nudie Jeans is opening a new UK Repair Shop on Bristol’s Park Street, bringing its repair-led retail model to one of the city’s best-known shopping areas.

The new store, at 71 Park Street, will open at 10am on Thursday 11 December.

Founded in Gothenburg in 2001, Nudie Jeans is known for its focus on organic cotton, circular design and long-lasting denim. Every Nudie Jeans store operates as a Repair Shop, offering free repairs for life on any pair of Nudie Jeans, regardless of when or where they were bought.

The Bristol opening will add to the brand’s UK presence alongside its existing stores in London and Manchester.

The new Park Street shop will offer free denim repairs, a curated range of jeans and ready-to-wear clothing, and the brand’s Re-use collection, made up of restored and repurposed pre-owned denim.

Nudie Jeans said Bristol was a natural location for the brand because of the city’s independent retail scene, creative culture and strong sustainability credentials.

Joakim Levin, co-founder and chief executive of Nudie Jeans, said:

Every Nudie Jeans Repair Shop is built on the belief that tomorrow’s vintage is created in the choices we make today. Few cities understand that better than Bristol.

The company said its Repair Shops are central to its circular business model. Customers can bring worn Nudie Jeans back for free repairs, while pre-owned pairs traded in by customers are cleaned, restored and resold through the Re-use programme.

In 2024, the brand carried out more than 73,000 free repairs globally and extended the life of thousands of pairs of jeans through its Re-use scheme.

Nudie Jeans said physical stores remain important to its wider retail strategy, despite the growth of online shopping. The company said stores help customers find the right fit, reduce returns and support a lower-impact distribution model by enabling online orders to be shipped from the nearest shop where possible.

Martin Gustavsson, chief commercial officer at Nudie Jeans, said:

Bristol has a spirit that resonates with us. It is independent, creative, and community-driven. Opening on Park Street means joining a conversation the city has already been having around culture, sustainability, and responsibility.

The Bristol Repair Shop is also expected to host community and cultural events, including repair workshops, live music sessions, panel talks and local circularity initiatives.

Nudie Jeans was founded by Joakim Levin and Maria Erixon Levin and is now sold in more than 50 countries. The company operates 34 stores globally and says it repairs more than 70,000 pairs of jeans each year.
