Enovert acquires Bristol waste recycling and specialist vehicle services operator PMG

Waste management company Enovert has acquired Severn Beach-based PMG Group SW Ltd.

PMG, which operates from Church Lane in Severn Beach, provides specialist vehicle services and waste recycling across the South West.

The acquisition will support the continued expansion of Enovert’s specialist waste treatment and disposal services.

It follows other recent acquisitions by the group, including ABC Power Solutions, a gas engine specialist, and Highfield Environmental Limited, a North East-based landfill and waste treatment operator.

PMG was established in the 1990s by Pat and Bernie McGuinness and has grown into a recognised specialist waste and industrial services provider in the region.

Its Church Lane site is home to a recently constructed bespoke recycling facility, incorporating specialist separation and dewatering technology.

The permitted treatment facility, built in 2025, is designed to process road sweepings, gully waste and liquid waste to produce recycled aggregates, supporting the circular economy.

PMG also operates one of the most advanced and extensive fleets of road sweepers in the street and industrial cleansing sector.

The business provides services to construction and quarrying companies, local authorities, and domestic, commercial and industrial customers across the South West.

Mark Silvester, CEO of Enovert, said:

Enovert is extremely pleased to have acquired PMG SW Limited, a business we recognise as a leading specialist waste and industrial services provider in the South West region. Enovert will bring additional support and waste expertise to PMG and we’ll use Enovert’s own strong roots in the South West of England to ensure PMG continues to grow and excel in the sector.

Clare McGuiness, managing director of PMG SW Ltd, said the business was looking forward to the next stage of its growth.

She said:

We are immensely proud of the foundation we have built and remain deeply grateful to our team, customers, and supply chain, whose years of dedication and hard work have been the heartbeat of our success. As we enter this next chapter, we look forward to supporting Enovert and our team within the wider group, ensuring the business continues to thrive alongside our new partners.

John Levis, managing director at KPMG Corporate Finance, said:

PMG has built a fantastic reputation as a specialist waste service provider across the South West region, and we look forward to watching the business continue to flourish under Enovert’s ownership.
The transaction further reinforces the buoyant M&A landscape in the UK waste and recycling sector, driven by compelling themes of resource recovery, the circular economy, and evolving regulation.

Enovert manages more than 2 million tonnes of waste each year and operates six landfill sites, eight large-scale landfill restoration schemes, three composting facilities and two waste transfer stations.

The company also generates renewable energy from landfill gas and supports local community improvement projects through the Enovert Community Trust.
