FinTech West and Howden Salisbury partner to boost cyber resilience across South West FinTech sector
FinTech West and Howden Salisbury have announced a new strategic partnership aimed at strengthening resilience across the region’s FinTech community.
The partnership follows the organisations’ first collaborative event in Bristol in December 2025, which brought together leaders from the FinTech, insurance and cybersecurity sectors to discuss practical approaches to cyber resilience.
The event, titled Cybersecurity: From Prevention to Protection, included speakers from the National Cyber Security Centre, part of GCHQ, as well as specialists from Howden, CFC Underwriting and Navos Technologies. The session explored the full spectrum of cyber risk, from prevention and risk reduction through to response planning and insurance protection.
Through the new partnership, FinTech West and Howden Salisbury will continue to host events and engagement activity designed to connect organisations across FinTech and insurance. The aim is to encourage knowledge sharing, build relationships and explore solutions to common industry challenges.
FinTech West is the representative body for FinTech in the South West of England, bringing together financial services firms, startups and scale ups, technology companies, professional services, academia, investors, regulators and policymakers.
Howden provides insurance and financial services advice to clients ranging from individuals and SMEs to large corporations.
David Willis, Divisional Director, Howden Personal Lines, said:
The cybersecurity session highlighted the value of open discussion between FinTech, technology and insurance organisations. We’re pleased to be partnering with FinTech West to support further conversations and engagement across the sector.
Stuart Harrison of FinTech West said:
Our December cybersecurity event showed how valuable it is to bring different parts of the industry together to discuss shared challenges. This partnership with Howden helps us continue creating opportunities for those conversations and connections both within our existing community and those external to it.
Organisations interested in joining the FinTech West community or exploring partnership opportunities are being encouraged to connect with the network to find out more about future events and initiatives.
